“Stateside” was originally released on April 25, 2025 via Warner Records as the second single from PinkPantheress’s mixtape Fancy That. The Zara Larsson remix followed as a single on September 24, 2025, later appearing on the remix album Fancy Some More? (October 10, 2025). Longtime Larsson collaborator MNEK co-wrote and demoed her verse remotely, weaving in personal references to her touring schedule and career, which Larsson then reworked in the studio. The official music video, directed by Charlotte Rutherford and produced by CASINO, was released on January 15, 2026, depicting both artists as mannequins in store displays themed around their respective 2025 albums. The collaboration was completed entirely remotely, with both artists meeting in person for the first time only after the remix’s release.
The “Stateside + Zara Larsson” remix became a global chart phenomenon, topping the Billboard Global 200 — the first number-one for both PinkPantheress and Larsson — and reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100, Larsson’s highest-charting hit to date. It earned PinkPantheress and Larsson the American Music Award for Collaboration of the Year, along with a nomination for Song of the Summer. The song gained a fresh wave of viral attention after two-time Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu performed to the remix during her closing gala skate at the 2026 Winter Olympics, wearing an outfit inspired by the music video — a moment that went viral and drew enthusiastic praise from both artists.
