“Una Noche Contigo” was released on April 24, 2025 via Universal Music as the first single from Juanes’ twelfth studio album. Inspired by Otis Redding’s 1962 classic “These Arms of Mine” — played for Juanes by Sebastián Krys — the song was co-written with Edgar Barrera, with lyrical editing by Julio Reyes, before being produced by Argentine producer Nico Cotton. Juanes described the result as a fresh sound that evokes the vintage, romantic vibrations of José José, Juan Gabriel, and The Beatles. The official music video, directed by STILLZ and filmed entirely on an iPhone 16 Pro Max, depicts Juanes in a snowy dreamscape encountering a standing polar bear, using facial recognition technology to explore themes of connection and overlooked presence.
“Una Noche Contigo” marked the beginning of a new creative cycle for Juanes following his introspective 2023 album Vida Cotidiana, which won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album. The song was first performed live at a sold-out concert at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional — a venue historically associated with legends José José and Juan Gabriel — generating significant buzz ahead of its digital release. Its blend of classic balladry with fresh vintage-pop production, paired with STILLZ’s acclaimed visual direction, resonated strongly with longtime fans while introducing Juanes’ evolving sound to new audiences ahead of his twelfth album, JuanesTeban (2026).
